The End | Frank Kugel
On July 1st, 2018 my company, I Live For Football, LLC, will be officially dissolved. Some may think of this as a surprisingly “sudden" decision, however, those close to the operation understand otherwise.
First off, no one on the team plays football anymore. The page was built on the creed that content was to be by football players for football players. Also, when I first started the page, it was to help get me away from the dysfunction caused by my parent’s divorce. I wanted to spread motivation to others going through similar situations. Now, here I am, a 19-year-old sophomore in college and finding myself in a much better place than where I was 5 years ago during my parent's divorce.
Next, is the fact that most of the members of the I Live For Football team are college students. It is very hard to put in the time that it truly takes to run a social media page with over 135,000 followers. Keep in mind, when this first started, we were mostly freshman in high school and much to our dismay that is not the case anymore.
Some of the more tactical reasons we came to this decision involved the much tighter recent restrictions placed around social content sharing, the task of keeping up with our wonderful sponsorships, and juggling the weight of maintaining our status as a registered Limited Liability Corporation. This was not an easy decision by any means, but the executive team felt like now was the time to flip the switch to the permanent “off” position and move on with future endeavours.
This being said, I would like to personally say Thank You to Christian Albers (Former VP) and Tyler Webb (Former COO). Without these two amazing people, I Live For Football would not have lasted this long. Next, I would like to thank the amazing team I had backing the Executive Team and running daily operations. Thank You Cole Ricker, Mike Colicchia, William Soquet, and Austin Vander Loop.
I would also like to thank any and all sponsors we have worked with over the past 5 years.
I have always had the thought in my head about I Live For Football maybe getting in the way (non-compete) and having to part ways with it at some point in my future. Some may ask, what is next for me? I will continue working towards my Business Administration (Marketing) degree in the Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Creating and managing I Live For Football helped me earn a position last fall with the Athletics Department social media team at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (NCAA D1), which I will continue and put 100% of my time into.
Once again, thank you to everyone for the support over the past 5 years. Thank you to my family of blood and gridiron that has been by my side since day one. It has been a pleasure, but all great things must come to an end.
